A space for conversations in a time of global disruption

The foregoing post sprung alive and kicking from a dream.  I don't recall any of the dream but I awoke to this analysis of a new society going on in my head and it seemed terribly vital and completely original, a piece of pure genius.  I felt I had to get it down quickly before it was lost in the fog of rationality.  That is why it is such a brilliant declaration of good intentioned naivete.

I feel certain, however, that everything I said will come to pass...after two or three armageddons and one apocalypse, with perhaps a few cataclysims, a holocost or two and at least one century of endless war.

"Fog of rationality", is of course, an oxymoron.  Clearly if your rationality is foggy you need to stay in and not bother people with your ideas and discourse.  Such is this sleepless pedant's desperate attempt at wit.  Really, the thing came fully formed from a dream.  Truth and justice are what millions have died trying to wrest from the powers of falsehood and injustice since before slings and arrows.

There is one sure fire way to get truth and justice for all.  You just need a couple of hundred million stout hearted men at arms with the zeal of prophets and a true believer's willingness to die for the cause to rally in a highly organized and well disciplined army of truth seekers and unleash them on the Texans and, voila! Cest une fait accompli.  You had better hurry because I think the Chinese are going to beat you to it if you don't.

I like your post. It is almost magical realism.

Your timeline of  " two or three armageddons and one apocalypse, with perhaps a few cataclysims, a holocost or two and at least one century of endless war." seems about right, but instead of "well disciplined army of truth seekers" I expect small groups of true Homo Sapiens to emerge from the forgotten places of the world with the memory of what happened preserved and a rallying cry of Never Again.

The Chinese can have Texas.

... chasing fantasies 'cross the skies,
'what you are is in your size'
eating up what's in our eyes
so don't listen to the cries
just forget whoever dies
to youth wisdom won't suffice
breathing in our world of lies
danger comes as no surprise...

love in hearts the soul denies
spirit shuns this earth's reprise,
nothing given -sure demise!

dreams are certain of love's prize
though deceits materialise
all are one,
no compromise...
