Charlotte Du Cann has worked in mainstream and alternative communications for 30 years. During in the 80s she worked as a journalist and editor specialising in food, fashion and design, writing for publications ranging from Vogue, New Statesman and The Independent. In the 1990s she went on the road (mostly in the Americas) and wrote non-fiction books on consciousness, medicine plants and cultural values. She settled in Suffolk in 2002 and is presently active within the Transition initiatives, Transition Norwich and Sustainable Bungay and working on a low-carbon cookbook and guide to community food projects and a book about contemporary downshift.

She writes for three community blogs including the regional progressive blog http://oneworldcolumn.org and is the editor of the upcoming Social Reporting Pilot for the Transition Network. A selections of current writings can be found on http://charlotteducann.blogspot.com/
