As a commercial helicopter pilot in western Canada for the last 13 years, I've been a firsthand witness to the "progress" we are making on our natural world.
What drew you to the Dark Mountain Project?
The dark mountain project appeals to me because it focuses on our symbiotic "connection to" rather than "mastery of" the natural world. I've known for a very long time that our human activities are unsustainable but at the same time I haven't been able to put my finger on what exactly the root issue was. I've found it easy to become disillusioned with the environmental movement as for the most part any progress made on that front is quickly negated by the ever quickening pace and burgeoning footprint of exploitation on our natural resources. I am here to gain further insight into our way forward. I want to be a positive force of change in this new world rather than a passenger just going along for the ride.
