"Would you post the direct like to the thread? Perhaps I didn't dig far enough through RationalSkepticism.org, but I didn't come across a Derrick Jensen thread in my browsing. Thank you."

Dark Mountain Homesteaders

Dark Mountain Homesteaders is a place where we can gather and share real world skills, talents, stories and traditions of how to live on this Good Earth.  While it is fine to contemplate our survival with poem and prose, let's also share what works to keep us fed, warm, and sheltered.  This is a place for Urban Farmers, Community Gardeners,  Permaculturists, Garage DIYers, Organic Farmers, and all the other makers and do-ers!  We have a lot of work to do, let's do it together!!See More

" Thanks Andy; it's nice to see another beekeeper on Dark Mountain!  The swarm was actually much larger than the photo shows... I just wanted to try something different as I waited for the bees to make their way into a hive box. :) "

Tell us a bit about yourself. (You don't have to share anything you don't want to, but please write something here, so we know you're not a spam robot.)
Hmm. I was never very good at describing myself, mostly because I'm usually at a loss for coming up with anything interesting, and my ego wants me to appear at least somewhat interesting...
I live 'out in the boonies' (though not far enough) on a small farm/homestead with my parents, was home schooled and self taught in the various subjects that interested me through the 19 years of my life. These days, my focus is usually on either scythes, axes, or honeybees. I am presently one third of ScytheConnection, my family's website committed towards providing information on scythe-related matters, axes are just about my favourite tools to use, and beekeeping is my passion.
What drew you to the Dark Mountain Project?
I believe it began a couple of years ago when a friend first shared a link from the Dark Mountain blog with my family, which led to us following it, albeit sporadically, ever since.
To me anyway, the Dark Mountain Project is a breath of fresh air in cyberspace, delving into the management of despair, recovering from environmental activism and so many of the issues that aren't being talked about elsewhere.... I could go on, but I suspect I would start rambling, so all for now.
Do you have a blog or website you'd like to share?
