Keeping the Sacred Fire: Forges, Imbolc and a Weekend For The Telling

This weekend just gone saw the coming and going of Imbolc—the first of the spring festivals in the pagan and druidic calendar. It marks the time of year when snowdrops begin to peek through the frozen ground, when candles are lit in pools of bright, cold water, when wells are dressed, and we renew ourselves for the coming of the year ahead. I don’t always mark the passing of these festivals formally, but I do always like to keep them in mind. To stay in touch with the viscous rhythm of the…See More

Dark Mountain Homesteaders

Dark Mountain Homesteaders is a place where we can gather and share real world skills, talents, stories and traditions of how to live on this Good Earth.  While it is fine to contemplate our survival with poem and prose, let's also share what works to keep us fed, warm, and sheltered.  This is a place for Urban Farmers, Community Gardeners,  Permaculturists, Garage DIYers, Organic Farmers, and all the other makers and do-ers!  We have a lot of work to do, let's do it together!!See More

Things got a little confused and off-track, so Dougie Strang has suggested we try and get more organised via email or something, awaiting further info on this. In the meantime here are some of the mountaineers you might like to befriend, many of whom are interested in the Guild proposal...

Hello,

I see that you live in Wales so thought I’d let you know about the Wales DM group

(http://uncivilisation.ning.com/group/wales-dm) and that there is an exhibition and poetry performance by one of the group members Susan Richardson on November 22nd. For more details go to http://uncivilisation.ning.com/events/where-the-air-is-rarefied-exhibition-and-poetry-performance.

Best wishes,
