UNCIVILISATION: The Dark Mountain Network

A space for conversations in a time of global disruption

We've heard from people who are travelling from all over the UK to UNCIVILISATION 2010 - and a few from further afield.

Tell us where you'll be coming from - and let's see if we can connect you up to other people in your area who are coming to the festival.

EDIT: For those coming by public transport, the nearest mainline rail station is Ruabon (2.5hrs from London via Chester). There are local buses from there to Llangollen, which takes 15 minutes.

Hi Julia

Where about in edinburgh do you live, perhaps we could meet up some time before the event and workout travel, I hope some of my students might also be coming.

All the best

Colin

I'm in Edinburgh, will be going for the weekend, and possibly also the pre-fest camping - haven't worked out logistics yet as still working out days.

Thanks Linda (and Jenny). Given I'd still need to get to the train station with tent and other baggage in order to get to Mansfield/Worksop/ Halifax, there's not a huge gain on the multiple train approach. I will double-check but I think I'm probably in search of other Sheffieldians...

We will be going sometime on the Friday from Halifax. If you can get to Halifax station you are welcome to come the rest of the way in the car with us.

Sheffield...
Intending to take the train, but it involves 3 changes so if anyone's driving from hereabouts please get in touch.
Hi folks,

I bought two week end tickets a few months ago thinking I must attend but I've got to work in Ireland over that period.

Anyone interested in buying the tickets off me, that'd be great. I hope to make it earlier in the week if I can.

Cheers

Yoann
I'm in S London like David (Kingston in my case), and don't own a car, so a liftshare would be great for me, but I'm hoping to head up Weds or Thurs to experience the camp atmosphere as well. David, if you do end up being ready to go Thurs morning, I'd be up for that, but sure you'll understand if a firmer offer comes along!

I'm coming from (South) London. Thanks to complicated knock-on effects of a birth in my extended family, expected on 31 May, I won't know until just before the festival if/when I'll be able to go. Most likely scenario would be to leave early morning (pre-congestion charge) on Friday 28th, though if I get 'clearance' on Thursday, I could go then. Returning late Sunday... unless there is an emergency call before then.

If anyone can tolerate such woeful uncertainty, I'd be happy to offer them a lift.

Of course I will ;-) Just ping me on the Monday or Tues if you still need a lift, and I'll give you latest news on the baby/departure front!

cheers, David
Another Londoner, probably heading from the North, probably driving, probably with some passengers and a bit of space.

Probabilities aside, if you are looking for a lift, definitely say so!

Best

The North of London? Could certainly make it that far under my own steam :) But do you know which day you're planning to travel there and back?
