UNCIVILISATION: The Dark Mountain Network

A space for conversations in a time of global disruption

A fellow called KMO became a member and left a link to his podcasts.  I've listened to a couple of them.  Some of you may find them interesting.  I did.  He is associated somehow with The Farm in the U.S.  They have been working on finding a better way since the early seventies.

My internet connection isn't good enough to listen online, but they download just fine.

I'm an old radio guy and I like to get my information in one hour chunks of audio rather than reading.  Video has potential, but there isn't much out there that I know of.  Probably because production costs are too high.

Any other links?

I don't understand why my comments end up in Lift-sharing. Must be doing something wrong.
Here is a podcast that I listened to last night.

http://shift.podomatic.com/ Episode 7: Ascent of Humanity
Here's the latest podcast featuring Dimitri Orlov.

Among other things he explains why collapse is still the optimistic scenario; why collapse isn't a necessary or even helpful subject for the mainstream; why working for reform of the current political establishment is no longer a credible or worthwhile activity; and how to use the internet, or at least how not to use 99% of it.

Takes a wee while to get into his stride but well worth persevering for the whole hour this podcast lasts.

Thanks for the heads up on this podcast. I'm in agreement with him and you on the point that collapse [economic, industrial, political, etc] is the optimistic scenario.
